I’m excited for another month filled with thought-provoking writing prompts that will inspire your child to dig deep into those creativity vaults!

If your child thought January’s Writing Prompts and February’s Writing Prompts had some unique holidays and days to celebrate, then March will be a real treat!

Many of us celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Pi Day, and Read Across America Day, but has your child ever celebrated National Let’s Laugh Day or National Panda Day?

Yes, these are recognized holidays in March, and though several may be unofficial, they’re a great way to introduce your child to a day that will inspire their writing skills to take flight on a sheet of paper.

March Journal Prompts for National Days and Holidays

Several of the March journal prompts are structured to encourage your child to put on their imagination hat and dream up a given scenario.

For example, the writing prompts for Respect Your Cat Day and National Frozen Food Day.

Some writing prompts will require your child to research the topic and write in-depth about the subject featured.

For example, the writing prompts for National Vietnam War Veterans Day, National Medal of Honor Day, and Cesar Chavez Day.

Each writing prompt encourages children to think outside the box and develop their writing skills.

Using March Journal Prompts in Your Homeschool

As always, I encourage you to save all the writing activities from the monthly prompts in a dedicated folder or binder.

Besides having a record of your child’s writing work, it’s also a great way to see how your child’s writing skills are improving and sharpening.

I would love for you to pass the link to these resources to friends in your homeschool community, co-op, and school.

Working on the prompts as a group can be encouraging to each child, especially if they get to present their creative works at the end of each day or perhaps their favorite literary work at the end of the week.

Let me know how your child is enjoying these packets! This always encourages me to create more resources to help your family thrive.
