0:00
Oh, the top number. Mm-hmm
0:03
And then this is like this. That's when we dry it. Yep. I'll teach you
0:07
Close it all the way. Push the door shut all the way. Dyer to the top
0:11
Yep. Okay, hit the start. Oh! Oh! They're so different
1:00
Hey you guys, welcome back to my channel. Today is going to be another day in the lifestyle video
1:05
It's going to be a really low key day. We actually, we're supposed to have BSF Bible Study Fellowship this morning, but it got canceled due to the weather
1:13
It is crazy cold outside. We are all going a little bit stir crazy. And we actually just have nothing else going on today. So we're going to get caught up on some schoolwork. I'm going to get caught up on some housework and some little tasks that I need to get done. So I just figure that I would
1:29
take you with me and show you what we kind of do during the day, during a lazy day where we don't
1:37
have anything else going on. What have you started so far today
1:43
It's called multiples. So Carly is in fifth grade. She's working through the fifth grade program on CTC Math and she's working on her multiples lesson
1:56
This is usually the first thing after the kids come downstairs, they will
1:59
eat breakfast, get dressed, do their chores, hopefully. And then they usually get started on their
2:06
Bible study work and then math afterwards. So she is just going through her math lesson. She has
2:12
watched her video already and now they have different questions that they have to go through
2:17
and they get immediate feedback, tells them if they're right or wrong. And it looks like she's
2:24
almost through the lesson. Okay. Good job. And then right now I'm going to come spy on Emma who is reading
2:35
What are you reading, Emma? Which book? Bailey's Story. Bailey's Story. She is loving this book
2:43
Would you recommend this book for, yeah, kids your age? Yep. And normally Emma should be doing her math right now
2:52
But I will just say this is one of my girls who has not
2:57
always loved to read, but she has found these books and she absolutely loves them. So she's
3:01
reading right now and I don't really care. I'm just going to let her read for a little bit and we can get to math later, right? All right. So my son is sixth grade. He's been working through
3:13
learning language arts through literature, the tan book. And he is finishing up a unit on writing a
3:19
research report. So there was a World War I battle that he chose. He got through writing the rough
3:26
draft. He edited it yesterday and now I'm going to go through and just double check his edits
3:32
and then he's going to work on his final copy today. All right, Em
4:26
What are you going to help with? Oh wow. So four, divided by eight
4:36
You have eight divided by four. You have to make sure whatever is under here gets divided by that
4:41
Each divided by four. And while she was working on her math, we've got some distractions over here, which tends to happen quite a lot during the homeschool day
4:54
But they're having a lot of fun. So we're going to let him play for a little bit
4:59
I'm going to finish helping my son with his research paper in just a minute
5:05
And then we're going to do some preschool work with Oliver. What do you want to do today
5:09
You want to paint, right? Yeah. You're five years. You're five-year-old, yes
5:13
So I can write two and I want that. Oh, oh. Is that how it works? Okay
5:19
And then one thing we do every morning is chores. So Carly is being a great help and working on some chores for me
5:26
You're right, you did your chores too and I really appreciate that. We've got to go put your laundry away in a minute
5:31
We've got chore charts. This is something I actually want to update. I might do that today is update these chore charts
5:37
They're kind of old and we're going to switch up the chores a little bit. So we will see if I get to that
5:42
You show me where the windows are all right. So can you explain to me what does your morning look like
5:49
What do you normally do to get started with your schoolwork during the day? Okay, so I normally eat breakfast first and then I log on to some school planning it
5:58
I normally do CTC math first. I just did morning chores and normally I just worked down
6:07
and there's like all these things down here. Normally we do my father's world together and we just, like, do everything
6:18
Perfect. So what are you going to work on next? This. The book basket
6:24
You're going to do some book basket reading. And then we probably need to do our language arts together, right
6:28
All right. Sounds good. So it's a nine
6:45
It has a nine. It has. Yay! Confetti
6:58
That is always fun to see 100%! Okay, so in our my father's world, voyage of discovery, we are on week 20, and my son is learning about the letter N. We've done a couple of tasks. We're pretty comfortable with this curriculum right now. So we kind of just skip around and do the parts that work for us and that we want to
7:40
do or that fit into our day. So we're going to pick a couple of activities from here to do today
7:46
and I think we're going to have a lot of fun with it. You know how we've been learning about triangles, Oliver? Do you think you could fill the triangle? Oh, he does. What shape is it? Triangle
7:59
Triangle, yeah. Wait, wait, acontece. One, two. Do you know, do you remember what marshmallow starts with
8:08
M. M. M. M. Good job. Good job. Doing it! You did it! Hey look! Can we hold them up and you match them? Yay
8:19
Oh, let's, what if we took these? What if we connected them
8:23
Okay, while you're making your tent, can I read your Bible to you
8:27
Okay, I made a tent. I love that. So Oliver, this one, look
8:33
Look at this bad news and good news for Job Oh guess what I just was reading the book of Job in my Bible study
8:49
All right, so what we're going to do next while Oliver is painting and Emma is finishing up for math
8:54
we're going to be doing some oral drill with our Latin words. We are using First Form Latin this year and we're actually doing it with our homeschool co-op
9:01
We are on a break right now, but we're trying to keep up our practice. So we don't forget what we have learned before we've learned
9:07
start back up in a couple of weeks so I'm going to be reading Carly some words and
9:11
she's going to be reciting back to me what those words mean are you ready
9:15
you got this okay all right you have to close your book so you can't look at it
9:25
all we're okay so lauda bot wow it was one you see it was
9:34
Good, loud out. All that you see it. Okay. All right. So right now we are taking a quick lunch break
9:57
Everyone made sandwiches. I'm going to put some hot dogs, chicken nuggets in the..
10:03
in the microwave for my littlest one. And we're gonna eat lunch
10:08
And then we're going to come together and finish up some of our school work that we have to do together
10:12
which is we have some heritage studies, some Bible, and what? Yeah, some of my father's world
10:22
And we've got language arts to finish up with the girls too. So that's what's on schedule for the rest of the afternoon
10:27
Right now I'm also going to take a few minutes to get a little bit of work done while everybody is eating
10:33
I have some emails that I need to schedule and a couple other tasks that I need to get done
10:39
So that is what I'm going to kind of fit in while everyone's eating and then we'll continue on with the rest of our homeschooling
10:46
At some point, the plan is to get a workout in today too. Usually I try to get up early in the morning and get it done
10:52
It's just been a couple of long days. And with us not having BSF this morning, I decided to sleep in
10:58
So I'm going to still be trying to get my run in later on today
11:03
Well, this week we're talking about Asia slash India. And then next week we're going to spend some more time on just India
11:11
But you guys know where that is on the map? So it is right here
11:16
Yeah. Yeah, that side. So like that whole part, we've got like Europe and then Asia
11:21
It's all kind of like connected. But it's right-hand side of that. So look at all this right here that is colored on here
11:27
So open to Europe. that map that I had open that you guys are going to color India and label color and label
11:32
India on that map oh that is a list of the countries you need to look for all of the list
11:58
So we are on age 397, problems at home and abroad. I don't know
12:08
Daily news in Peach. So the picture, yeah, it says in Peach
12:15
Do you guys know who that is? The peep. Now who is that good picture on
12:20
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I don't know what it's actually, it's actually, I don't know if we'll talk about that today, but it's
12:27
that today but it's a formal accusation of wrong doing so they're accusing him of doing
12:31
something wrong that's what it means to impeach somebody it doesn't mean he's
12:36
actually kicked out of office it means that he is it means that he was accused of
12:41
something okay it is Clinton yeah that is a picture of Clinton so
12:46
so go ahead and read the scandals part person in close than one reelection
13:28
No! All right. All right
13:40
So we are almost finished with our day. We got done going over some of our catechism
13:45
We read a little bit in our basics of a biblical worldview
13:49
Basics for a biblical worldview. And right now I'm going to be going over some language arts with my daughters
13:54
and doing some lesson stuff with my other daughter. So we're going to do that and then from there I will probably go do my run and then get to making dinner
14:07
We're going to make some homemade pizzas tonight, which the kids are excited about. So let's get through this language arts lesson and then we will wrap it up for the day
14:28
spelling test today too? Yeah. Yeah, we did. You can skip this
14:34
You got... I've tried words. I kind of did. Okay, second one is won't
15:03
Okay, so while my girls are finishing up their work, I am going to get on to homeschool planet
15:10
And usually at the end of the day, I just like to go through the checklist and make sure everything is completed
15:16
that we need to have done. And then I will also go into homeschool hall
15:20
and add in our homeschool hours for the day, everything that we completed. I love using both of those tools
15:25
It makes it really easy for me to stay on top of our schedule, and all of the hours that we need to satisfy for our state requirements
15:32
Today was a fun day. We were a little bit more relaxed
15:36
We took a little bit more time to get through our schoolwork today because, like I said
15:40
at the beginning, we didn't have BSF in the morning. So we had more time during the day to kind of get through everything
15:46
So a few more breaks, a few more just times where the kids could relax, play around
15:52
which was really good. I love being involved in all the activities that we are involved in
15:56
but I really appreciate these days where we have unexpected breaks come up
16:02
like for the weather today, where we just kind of get a hangout at home and relax
16:06
and not have to stress quite as much about our schoolwork and our timeline and things like that
