One of the things many homeschool moms love is the freedom to pick and choose different materials and curriculum for all of their subjects and maybe even for each of their kids
0:09
This is a beautiful option, but honestly, with all of the choices out there today, this can be very overwhelming for new homeschoolers and even those of us who have been doing this for a few years
0:20
I was talking with a friend recently who knows she wants to homeschool but is feeling almost paralyzed with the decisions that need to be made about what curriculum to you
0:29
use to teach your kids. I know this is a common feeling. I remember feeling the same way when we first
0:35
started homeschooling when my oldest son was kindergarten age. I found, fortunately, my father's world
0:42
kindergarten curriculum, which is an all-in-one curriculum, and this was the answer to my prayers. This is
0:48
what I chose to use in our first year of homeschooling. We had such a great time with this, and I don't
0:53
think I'll ever stop recommending this curriculum to parents looking for a biblically based, family-focused
0:58
open and go option. So if you are curious about the kindergarten curriculum from my father's
1:04
world, I'm going to show you what's included and flip through the teacher's manual so you can see
1:09
what the lessons look like and what I love about this curriculum. Okay, so right off the bat
1:19
one of the drawbacks to a pre-packaged curriculum like this is that it can be the more
1:24
expensive route. Right now, if you buy the premium package of this
1:28
kindergarten curriculum, it costs a little over $450 when it's not on sale. But the benefit is that it
1:36
includes all the things, the teacher's manual, student worksheets, any printable items that you need
1:42
a lot of the books, manipulatives, all the things. All that to say, I think a curriculum like this
1:47
is definitely worth it for many reasons. The biggest one for me in my first year of homeschooling was
1:52
that this is all pre-planned. I didn't have to worry at all about making sure that I was
1:58
covering everything or that I would leave something out. My father's world explains everything so well
2:04
on their website regarding what you need and this goes through all years, even through high school
2:10
So that was just one big thing off my plate. Once I had my materials, I just had to open it up and do
2:17
what the teacher manual said to do each day. You could certainly forego a box curriculum like this
2:22
and plan out all of your own lessons and activities. But for me, I wasn't interested in doing
2:28
that and I just didn't have time because I also had my little twins at home too. I was running a
2:36
business from home at the time and like I said earlier, this was just an answer to my prayers
2:41
as a new homeschool mom. Honestly, when I first knew I was going to start homeschooling, I didn't
2:46
even know that curriculum like this existed. That sounds really funny to me now because of all
2:52
the options that are out there. But I really didn't. So if that's you getting ready to start
2:57
homeschooling and feeling overwhelmed with where to start. You can simply buy a complete curriculum
3:02
package as a starting point if that's an option for you. Okay, so when I say that this curriculum
3:08
God's creation from A to Z is a complete curriculum, I mean that it's going to cover all of your
3:14
subjects that you would teach in kindergarten. So this is going to include Bible, language art
3:19
reading, math, science, art, and music. The first two weeks, you're going to focus on lessons about
3:25
creation and then it moves into 26 weekly little unit studies that focus on a different letter and a
3:32
different science topic each week so each lesson should take you anywhere from about an hour to an
3:39
hour and a half to complete each day not that much time and all of your subjects are integrated which
3:44
i think is a really great way for kids to learn so for example when your kids are learning the letter
3:50
they will study water, learn about the different states of water, read a poem about rain, listen
3:56
to Handel's water music, and learn about how Jesus gives our spirits living water to drink
4:02
It's all connected within the week and beautifully planned out. Not to mention you'll be teaching your
4:06
kids how to read. You'll teach them all the math skills that they should know by the end of
4:11
kindergarten and you'll give them a great solid biblical foundation. Let me show you really quickly
4:16
what comes with the different packages and then I'll flip through the teacher's manual and show you
4:21
what the lessons look like. So there are two options for purchasing the kindergarten curriculum
4:26
from my father's world. You can either buy the essentials package, which it's like it sounds just the
4:33
essentials for teaching the curriculum. So this is going to include your teacher's manual and
4:38
also your student sheets. It includes an inflatable globe. It includes an inflatable globe. It includes a
4:46
this book which is for you called for the children's sake and it also includes these a to
4:52
Z flashcards that are going to go along and be used with the curriculum it also includes an alphabet
4:58
puzzle um this is the one that I got when I bought this a couple of years ago we're missing a
5:05
couple pieces we've got to find them in the basement somewhere but the puzzle now is a different color
5:10
but I think it's pretty similar it's um just you're going to use it for some tactile activities
5:16
in the curriculum. And there are a couple of things that come with the curriculum now that I don't
5:20
have on hand. These are things that were added in at a later edition. So there are some wooden blocks
5:27
and cards. When I purchased this, it came with these little plastic rods and it came with this
5:34
activity book, but this is going to be different now. Okay, just so you know. And there's also a book
5:39
that they've added called God's Amazing World that is now included for science. So this book is going to be
5:45
an ABC book with pictures and facts about the world, scripture, devotions that you're going to be
5:51
using with the curriculum. Oh, and you'll also get access to some online classical music to use
5:56
for the music part of the curriculum. All that being said, the teacher manual gets updated to reflect
6:01
these changes. So if you're purchasing this now, your manual might have very small differences
6:07
from mine, but for the most part, it's going to be the same. If you go with the premier package
6:12
You're going to get everything that's included in the essentials package, but you also get all of the books that are included in the read aloud portion of the curriculum
6:23
So let me show you what books are included. This is one of the new ones
6:28
I actually purchased this to add in because this wasn't available when I first got my package
6:34
But dinosaurs from Ken Ham and it says dinosaurs for little kids, where did they go
6:39
I love Ken Ham's books about dinosaurs. My little guy loves dinosaurs and he's got some great resources
6:46
We've got this book right here. The Year at Maple Hill Farm, Tortoise and the Hare
6:53
the story of Ferdinand, the color kittens, the bee tree, tacky, the penguin, tales of Peter Rabbit
7:02
and Jemima Puddle Duck, Swimmy, Stone Soup, Let's see, mouse and mole
7:11
So you get a lot of books. Moon Bear's Shadow, all comes with the premier package
7:18
Make Way for Ducklings. Little Jewel Bird, Little Bear, How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World
7:30
Katie No Pocket. Fritz and the Beautiful Horses, Frog and Toad are friends, How to Hide a Butterfly, Annie and Snowball in the Cozy Nest
7:48
The Amazing Animal Alphabet, and a Tree is Nice. So a lot of books that are included when you purchase a premier package
7:56
There are also a couple of books that I don't have that were added and I didn't order
8:00
them like I ordered the dinosaur one. And those are Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young and wherever you go by My
8:07
Melissa Kruger. Now another brand new thing that was added this year is a collection of exclusive
8:13
videos that are produced by the Wild Brothers and are made just to go along with this curriculum
8:19
If you don't know who the Wild Brothers are, they are four homeschooled brothers who grew up in a
8:23
missionary family and they've got a lot of content and videos about their lives and the work that
8:28
they've done. So they have partnered with my father's world and put together videos for each of
8:33
the science topics in this curriculum that cover different facts and also time
8:37
on the biblical concepts being taught in that particular unit. I think this is a really neat
8:42
addition. I did reach out to the company since I have an older addition and I'm still able
8:47
to get access to the videos So we will definitely be including them this year when I use this with my son So with the premier package you will get everything you need to complete your kindergarten year The only things you won get are some of the small household or grocery store items that you might need from week to week for simple crafts or projects
9:05
But really, there's a little prep work that you'll need to do because you'll have everything right here
9:10
And that's something I really love about being able to purchase the entire set
9:14
I just had a piece of mind going into our first homeschool year because it was
9:18
was all prepped, all planned for me, and I had everything right there ready to go
9:23
Okay, so next I'm going to show you guys the student sheets. You will get them in a package like this
9:28
I actually have an extra set from a friend. So I already have mine kind of organized in my binder so I can show this to you guys
9:36
So organization is really easy because every week you're going to have those loose leaf
9:43
sheets that are separated by the week. So it'll tell you the week that you're going to need it and the day of the week
9:52
depending on what the sheet is, the day that you're going to use it. So what I did at the very beginning is I have page protectors
9:59
And so I just took every week and I put every week's worksheets in a different page protector
10:06
So whenever it's time for that week, I'll open it up. I usually pull out the sheets that are inside that we need for that day
10:14
And then the great thing is when we're finished, anything that I want to
10:17
to keep, I'll just put back in the page protector and then I'll take it out of the binder and I'll
10:23
move it to the very back. That way, the current stuff that we're working on stays in the front
10:29
And then at the end of the year, I have a whole binder filled of all of the work that we've done
10:33
for our kindergarten year. So it just is a really easy portfolio that we build as we go. I can easily
10:40
stick things either in the page protectors or in the binder if I want to just whole punch it
10:45
Some of these things, you'll see I've got envelopes in here. These are from when I used this curriculum with my son. So I saved a lot of when we cut out the letters and he colored them in case we wanted to use them again. So I may decide to either use them or not use them, but I just stuck them in there just to have them. That's why you're seeing the envelopes in there. That's something that you'll actually do during the curriculum. You'll put these together. So the other things that come with
11:15
with this, all these extra loose sheets right here. You have, this is for a short vowel song
11:24
I believe that you're going to do. Some cards for that, you have some alphabet cards
11:29
that you will practice with. These are some bingo cards. There's a little bingo game that you will play with your kids
11:37
So there's little bingo cards in here. There is a hundred chart
11:42
You can count down to the 100th day of school. These are just some charts that you can hang up in your school room to reference the letters and the numbers
11:50
This is your blend ladder chart. So you're going to be using this as you work with your child to learn how to blend letters and begin to read
11:57
And I have an extra one because of the one my friend gave me, but I think you just get one of them
12:02
And then these are all the biblical concept flashcards. So throughout the different units, you're going to use, or you're going to learn a new biblical concept every unit
12:12
So I cut these out and then every week I would hang them up
12:17
I have a bulletin board in our kitchen. I would just paste or not paste them
12:21
I would pin them up on the bulletin board and I would leave them there the whole year
12:24
So we could just be reminded of all these concepts that we were learning. So you could hang them up on a bulletin board if you wanted to
12:31
You could hang them up on the wall. You could just stick them in your binder or make a poster with them, whatever you want to do
12:39
But it gives you these nice cards for every concept. that you're going to be learning. Okay, and then one of the other fun things that you're going to be
12:46
doing is making a badge for every different unit that you do. So every week, you're going to have
12:53
a different badge. And they give you some different ideas in the curriculum of what you can do with
12:58
these badges and how you could use them. But these are just patterns that you're going to cut out
13:03
And then you can have your child color them. You can write the different biblical concept on them
13:10
but they give you just these little templates for each of the units that you're going to be doing
13:16
And let me show you what we ended up doing with ours. I thought it turned out so cute
13:20
And I don't remember where I got this idea. But I bought a just a blank canvas bag
13:29
I think it's probably from Michaels or something. And every week, I bought some fabric markers
13:36
And every week I took the template and I would trace the template
13:40
on the bag and I would write whatever the concept was that we were learning that week
13:49
So this first one, the sun, you know, we saw Jesus is the light of the world
13:53
So I wrote that in the middle of our template and then I let my son color in however he wanted
13:59
to the different templates. So these are all the ones that we did when he was in kindergarten
14:08
So we filled up the front of this. And then we also filled up the back because there are a lot of them
14:14
But when we're done, we just had a nice little keepsake bag and we would take this to the library and use it as our library bag
14:21
And it was just really fun. So I will probably do something similar for my son this year
14:26
I just have to pick up an extra bag and some fabric markers. But that's a really neat part of the curriculum
14:32
And again, it gives you some other ideas for what you could do with those or you could be creative with how you want to use the badges each week
14:39
And then this is the teacher's manual for kindergarten. I am going to do a quick look through an overview of a couple of the lessons. So you can see what it would look like to teach this and maybe even make sure that it would be at the right level for your kids. So this is the table of contents. This is going to show you all of the different weeks, all of the different topics that are going to go with each letter that you're learning. And then these are all of the biblical concepts that you'll be learning along with that. So those are going to be the same that are on these
15:09
cards that I showed you at the beginning that you'll be using to make those badges and things like
15:14
that. So they have 32 weeks planned out. They do take two weeks in the middle for Christmas
15:21
They have a special Christmas unit that they give you materials for. And then you finish off the
15:26
year with this fun Fruit of the Spirit unit. And then I mentioned that the premiere package pretty
15:32
much comes with everything that you're going to need to teach. On this page, it does give you a
15:38
short list of some supplies that you are going to want to have on hand. So pretty simple, like pencils
15:43
ruler, stapler. You're going to need some envelopes, kind of like you saw when I was slipping through
15:48
my binder. You'll be using those for some activities and then just some optional items here. All right
15:55
so your first two weeks of the curriculum are weeks about creation. These are kind of special weeks
16:03
So this is going to look a little bit different than the rest of the curriculum
16:08
So during these weeks, you're going to have Bible lessons. There are, the math portion is kind of looking at the numbers for the creation week
16:16
So numbers 1 through 7 and doing a little activity with those
16:20
Reviewing those letter names, you're going to be making a creation book with your kids
16:26
learning a simple song up here. This is my father's world. And then there's just a little activity for each day
16:32
And then when you go to the next pages, they have notes for those weeks. So a lot of times in the curriculum, you'll see, like, see page 10 or see notes. After every weekly calendar, they usually have any additional notes that you're going to need. So it's right there at your fingertips. You can flip through and sometimes just read word for word. It's kind of like a script that they give you so you know exactly what you're going to be doing. Okay, so then we get into week three
17:02
this is going to be what your weekly lessons are really going to look like
17:08
The first thing that you'll usually want to do is look over on this page because this is going to tell you any other materials that you might need for this week
17:16
If you can stay a week or so ahead, great. Most of the time I didn't and I was just opening this up on Monday of that week
17:23
And typically I would have everything, but sometimes I didn't and I either, you know, would have to run to the store or we just skip stuff
17:32
So it will give you this list at the beginning of each week. However proactive you want to be about making sure you have
17:38
supplies on hand that will be up to you And then it gives you what chapter to read in that book that was included for the children sake That optional but just for your reading if you want to do it Okay so let actually look at the lesson
17:53
How my father's world is structured is it gives you a column for each day. Okay, so I would look at
17:58
day one and I would just go right down the column. You've got a row for reading, language arts and
18:04
math, for activities, read aloud, and then outside time. Most days, it's going to give you a
18:11
reminder to start off with your calendar. And if we look back at page 15, so you'll get into a really
18:17
good habit with how to do this, but it gives you instructions for what to do during that calendar
18:21
time. So each day, you're going to, actually, I didn't show you this yet, but it comes with a calendar
18:27
for every month. So it says every day you're going to write the correct date in the box, and then
18:34
you're going to use the calendar to talk about the days of the week, practice counting to 30 as you go
18:38
through and you'll also be using the calendar to teach colors, shapes, and patterns. So every month
18:48
it gives you kind of a different thing to focus on using your calendars. All right, and you'll also see
18:53
you've got the 100 chart. So this is the chart here that I showed earlier. Every day, you will be
19:01
filling in the number in your 100 chart. And then you also are going to be needing a jar, a shoe box
19:08
and a hundred straws. I use a shoebox for this and some rubber bands because
19:15
there's going to be an activity where you are adding like a new straw each day
19:20
and then you're bundling them so you work on groups of 10 and things like that
19:25
Okay, so it gives you instructions for all of that. And then we'll talk about
19:29
introducing the letters in a second. The other thing for math. Again, I have an
19:33
older version of this, but there's usually a couple activities a week using
19:38
the Cuisineer rods. I don't know if I'm saying that right, but there's some kind of activity with that
19:45
And in the new version that I saw on their website, they are using wooden planks and there are activity cards that come with it
19:53
So I don't know how similar this is. If you have an older version, you might be able to use this or find it somewhere
19:59
But otherwise, I'm assuming it'll be something similar, some kind of similar concept where they're using the wooden blocks and the activity cards to kind of go through and, you know
20:08
do some activities. Now for the reading part every week it's going to follow the same progression
20:14
and schedule. So if you see right here, you're going to introduce a new letter sound. You're going
20:19
to introduce a flash card and the flash cards are these right here that I showed you at the
20:24
beginning and we would pin these up on our bulletin board as well. So you'll do that and then there
20:28
is a song and then there are some worksheets that will go along with this. So anytime you see this
20:34
double asterisk, this means that there's going to be the corresponding worksheet page that your kids are
20:38
going to do and there's going to be a tactile letter activity. Okay, so that'll be day one
20:43
And I'll show you what all that looks like in just a minute when I flip through. But as we go
20:48
through, then they'll also have a handwriting page. So they'll work on handwriting
20:52
They will have a sound discrimination page, a picture box activity. On day three, a math page
20:58
cutting and pasting, ABC song, letter name concentration, some other activities, and then a drawing
21:06
page. So every week you're going to get into a routine because you're going to learn how to do all
21:13
these things and then you're just going to keep repeating it. So for the first week, they list
21:17
everything throughout these pages that are behind here. So you've got all of your day one stuff
21:23
It tells you how to do everything that they listed there. And then you'll have day two
21:30
and then day three, day four, and day five. And I have. I have
21:36
have skip on a lot of this stuff because when we did this curriculum, it was the year 2017
21:42
and there was an eclipse actually on the first day of our week three. That was on the big eclipse was
21:49
And my kid's birthday was Tuesday. So all three of my older kids have the same birthday on August 22nd
21:57
So we actually, this week looked kind of crazy for us. We took a day off, which is why I had so many
22:02
skipped and we kind of rearrange things a bit. So if you're wondering why I have that written in on some of
22:08
these pages, that's why. Typically, I probably wouldn't have skipped it, but it was just kind of a
22:13
little bit of a strange week. Okay. So day five, some additional activities, and then you get to
22:20
your next week. But what I want to show you, they only write all that out for the first week. They're
22:26
not going to put all of that in there every week because you follow the same pattern. So if you go to the
22:31
back, they have yellow pages that basically say the same thing and tell you what you're going to do
22:38
each week for your reading plan. Okay. So what that looks like is on the day, first day
22:44
you're going to be introducing your letter sound. We used the letter puzzle and did the activity
22:50
kind of following the directions you're using whatever letter we're introducing. Then you'll
22:56
introduce the flash card. So you'll show the different flash card and it tells you exactly what
23:01
say and how you're going to use the flash card. Then it talks about you're going to use the flashcards to go through the song
23:08
And then you have this picture cards page. So let me show you an example of what this looks like. This is from
23:14
the week where we would be learning about the letter L. So this is your picture card page. It says that you're going to be telling the name of each picture, giving the sound what it starts with
23:27
The kids are going to color and cut these out. And then this is what you use the envelopes for
23:33
So this is one I had done in the past with my son, where they cut it out
23:36
You glue the letter to the front, and then you stick all of the cards inside
23:41
And these are going to be used for review throughout the curriculum
23:46
So we just stuck all these envelopes in a shoebox once we had them made
23:50
So that's what you're going to be using for the picture cards page
23:54
Then you have the tactile letter activity. So these are just great ways to reinforce how to write letters and how to recognize letters
24:04
It gives you a bunch of different options that are hands on. If you have tactile learners or kids that really learn well with using their hands and using different materials
24:14
that's what this will give you information on. So that's all Monday
24:18
Then you move into day two for Tuesday. You've got a short vowel song
24:23
This will actually, it won't begin until week six, but you're going to be using these cards for that that it gives you
24:31
And you've got a handwriting page. So for the handwriting page, this will be it right here
24:38
And again, week, this is week five, day two. It'll tell you on the sheet when you're going to be using it
24:44
You have a picture box activity that day. And you're going to be using the envelopes that you just made the previous day for this one
24:52
and then a sound discrimination page. This is also right here. So on the back of that first one
24:58
this is your sound discrimination page that you're going to be using. It says using a pencil
25:02
the student will circle any pictured object that begins with that unit's letter. And then put an
25:07
X on those that don't begin. Okay. So they're going to complete that independently. You're going to
25:12
check it. And so just another great way to reinforce what they're learning. All right. And then on Wednesday
25:17
day three, you are doing your alphabet song. Letter, practice again and then when you get to week eight you're going to start bringing in the blend
25:27
ladder so starting to teach your kids how to blend those letter sounds and it gives you instructions
25:33
of again exactly what you need to say exactly what you need to do to teach this to your kids all right
25:39
and then math page so this is another example of one of the math sheets that are in the student
25:45
package the cut and paste page that's going to be on the back of your math sheet day four
25:52
letter review and the ABC song. Your blend ladder, you're going to be doing that quite a bit
25:59
Then starting in week eight, you will have a word list page. So that'll be something else in your student sheets that you're going to do
26:08
Letter name game concentration. There's just so much in here, isn't there
26:12
And then we get to day five. So on day five, we've got our song again and you've got a drawing page
26:18
This is the last page in the student sheet for each week
26:22
and it says you're going to have your kids think of an object beginning with the unit's letter, draw it in the box and then neatly print the beginning letter three times on the line underneath
26:32
Okay And then you can review other letters in the other boxes So just another great way to reinforce this And like I said these are things you guys are going to be doing each week So you going to get really familiar with them I had to reference these pages for the first couple of weeks
26:47
But then when I thought in the calendar, I knew exactly what to do. I knew what my kids needed to do and what we could kind of either skip over or move through a little bit more quickly
26:57
So it seems maybe a little bit overwhelming. But again, it's all here for you
27:03
It's going to walk you through step by step what to say and what to say. do and you will get better at teaching it and navigating it. So don't stress out or worry about that
27:15
at all. And I did want to flip back really quickly. I always forget something, but when I was talking
27:22
about math, let's briefly touch on that again because I mentioned the cuisine air rods. How do you
27:30
say that? Cousineer Rod's book. And I mentioned, you know, the math page and the cut and paste page
27:35
from the students' sheets. So you guys are going to have those worksheets to go along to help you
27:40
with math. But also, this little section in here kind of talks about math a little bit more
27:46
about how they approach using it. So all the things your kids need to know in kindergarten are going
27:52
to be taught. So they're going to learn counting objects, writing numerals, preparing and understanding
27:57
charts and graphs, comparing, classifying, and sequencing. They're introduced to ordinal numbers
28:03
like first, second, third, they're introduced to fractions like whole and half
28:08
Clocks, coins, addition, and subtractions are introduced to those things. So you will see that stuff throughout the curriculum
28:15
And then it also mentions that you can easily reinforce those skills in everyday situations
28:21
So it just gives you tips on how you can continue to reinforce those concepts as you're just going through life with your kids
28:28
So as you go through your science activities, a lot of those practical skills
28:33
are going to be built into there. So if it seems like looking at the calendar
28:37
that it doesn't seem like it's very much for math, that's why I just wanted to go back
28:43
and really make sure that you kind of understood the math approach for this
28:47
And I really do think that it is enough for what you should be doing in kindergarten
28:53
And again, if you find that your student loves math and needs more, feel free to supplement
28:58
but you may not know that until you kind of start doing this. And then you can add something
29:03
in after that, whether it's a separate math curriculum or an app or anything like that. Okay, so just to
29:10
flip back through this to show you what else is all included in here, you've got a handwriting guide
29:17
in the back that's going to show you how to be forming all of the different letters. And this page
29:23
right here, I think, is also worth pointing out. Okay. So you might be saying this looks really simple
29:30
All this reading stuff, my kid already knows how to read. Okay. So, Should I still use this curriculum? I would say yes. I think this is like it says it's more than just a phonics
29:41
program. Okay. If you want to pause this video and kind of read through this page, it might be
29:46
helpful to you. But I think it really gives some great reasons why you still might consider using this
29:50
even if your child is already reading or maybe if they're picking up the reading really quickly
29:56
When I did this with my son, I eventually started skipping some of the easier reading activities in here
30:03
And this gives some suggestions that you could do with your kids if you need to go a little bit further
30:10
We actually ended up adding in all about reading pretty quickly because my son was ready for it
30:18
And it worked out really well for us to simply do an all about reading lesson alongside our other kindergarten activities each day
30:25
But I'm so glad that we did this curriculum. I'm glad that we used it
30:29
I think it really helped give my son confidence and build up
30:33
some of his writing skills, among other things. So that's what I would recommend. I think it's a great
30:39
kindergarten curriculum overall. Once you get going, you're going to learn your kids better and you're
30:44
going to be able to see if you need anything extra to supplement to go alongside of it. In the back here
30:52
there's also some suggestions for outside time. So some different activities you could do
30:58
We'll see that on the calendar. So when you look at every week, they do, they do
31:03
have a section for outside time. Sometimes they'll give you suggestions, but otherwise you can use
31:09
some of the suggestions that are in the back here. Let's look at this book list. The book lists that
31:15
you get from my father's world are great. So you saw in the premiere package, it already includes
31:20
a lot of books that you're going to be using with the curriculum. But every week you've got
31:26
this read aloud time. And so that's when you're going to be using the books that were included. So
31:32
moon bear shadow you know we're going to use that book this week the other days you should probably
31:39
still be reading to your kids and they give a great list in the back here of books that they recommend
31:44
that go along with every week that you can check out from the library and make sure you have on
31:50
hand to go with each unit if you can try to make a note in your calendar to stay about a week
31:57
or two ahead of this especially if you reserve books from your library and you need to make
32:01
should you do that on time so you're not scrambling and trying to do it the week of you know unless
32:06
you want to go to maybe you make Monday a library day where you go to the library and you pick out
32:11
different books that you're going to be learning about that week and it's a big thing however you want
32:15
to do it just know that they have a list back here these are all really great books that go along
32:21
with the units that you can keep on hand to read with your kids as you're learning right and then
32:27
that takes you to the very back the very last page just gives an overview
32:31
you again of all the biblical concepts that you are covering. And I think these are just so great
32:36
They really get in your kids head. And to this day, I mean, my son is going into seventh grade next
32:42
year. So we did this when he was in kindergarten. And we still remember and will recite some of these
32:48
biblical concepts when they come up in our everyday life. So I think that that is just a really cool
32:52
thing. All right. The final thing that you'll notice on your weekly calendar are these activities
32:57
So they usually have some kind of activity that is related to your concept for the week
33:04
So making raisins, painting a sun, making a sundial, day and night
33:10
And then usually they'll have your music, some kind of activity to go with music in here
33:15
And then on Wednesday, this is when you're going to do your badge activity
33:19
So where you cut out the shapes and you do something with them
33:23
Okay, that was where we made our bag. We did that on Wednesday. Right in the middle here, this is when you're going to have your Christmas unit kind of stuck in whenever you get to Christmas time
33:34
If you want to take a couple of weeks to do this Christmas unit, you can certainly work this in
33:40
I think it's pretty similar to what was done in their preschool Christmas unit if you ended up doing Voyage of Discovery with your kids
33:49
But this is in here and you do have some student sheets that go along with this
33:53
And then here are your notes for that Christmas unit. So it's a great Advent style activity that you can use
34:03
And then finally, at the very end of the year, you will finish up with your Fruit of the Spirit unit
34:09
So again, just an extra two-week unit to finish off the year
34:14
Everything is included as you guys talk about the different fruit of the spirit and read from your Bible and do some different activities here
34:23
Okay, guys, so that's it. That's God's creation from A to Z from my
34:27
father's world. I loved using this curriculum with my oldest son and I'm excited to use it
34:31
again this upcoming year with my youngest. It's truly been a blessing to us and has come alongside me
34:38
to teach my kids to love the Lord and see him in everything and all of his amazing creation
34:43
I hope this helped give you an idea of what to expect with this curriculum, but most of all
34:47
if you are a new homeschooling mom, wondering if you can do this homeschooling thing or nervous
34:53
about what you need to cover or what resources you need, I want to encourage you
34:57
that you can do this and I highly recommend starting your kindergarten year with this curriculum
35:02
if you can make it happen. I'm going to drop a link in the description below that will give you $25 off your purchase if you do decide to go with it. So make sure you check that out and grab that
