Did you know that “professional mermaid” is an actual job option?

I learned this about a month ago, when my 9-year-old daughter announced that this is what she has decided she wants to be when she grows up.

Now, I know that as homeschoolers we have a lot of flexibility to cater to our kids’ individual learning needs and curiosities. However, mermaid training was definitely not on my curriculum plan this year (I’ll have to scope out my options at our next homeschool convention).

Until then, I figured we’d satisfy her love of all things mermaid with a few fun mermaid crafts for kids.
