Save money on expensive party hats, and let your creative kids make their own! Download a free printable New Year’s Eve hat to help you ring in the new year with your family.
Last year, my daughters wanted to go with me to the story to get decorations for New Year’s Eve. We always have a lot of fun as a family ringing in the new year, and my girls love decorating and making everything feel “festive”.
As we browsed the aisle, the New Year’s Eve party hats caught their eye. They were very festive, with glitter, streamers, and pom poms, but there was no way I was going to shell out $8 for a cardboard hat for each member of my family.
Sure, we could probably shop around and find cheaper party hats. But my girls love to craft and be creative; so I figured, we’d make our own hats this year, save money, and have a lot more fun!

New Year’s Eve Homemade Party Hats
I want to share these printable New Year’s Eve hats with you so you can enjoy them with your family as well.
These free printable templates include 15 pages of different designs, so each family member or party guest can choose their favorite. Your kids can color them and even add their own glitter and streamers if they’d like!
I recommend printing out the PDF files on white cardstock for durability. For some of the designs, you may use additional strips of cardstock to make the band big enough to fit around your kids’ heads (just tape or staple the paper together).

We love coloring our printable New Year’s Eve hats as part of our New Year’s Eve countdown activity, which is a perfect way to celebrate as you wait for the ball drop! You can grab it from my shop here.
