6 Essential Oil Blends You Need to Revitalize Your Homeschool
The following is guest post by Brittany from Drops of Joy Jewelry, who will be sharing some of her favorite essential oil blends for school and homeschool.
Drops of Joy Jewelry is my favorite company for essential oil jewelry (if you didn’t know that was a thing, you’ll want to check out their website for all sorts of fun aromatherapy necklaces and other goodies like essential oil car diffusers).

We love running our diffuser in our home, but I also love the convenience of wearing my diffuser necklaces and bracelets while we homeschool. Drops of Joy Jewelry even has great options for kids. Go check them out when you have a chance, enjoy the article below, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway!
What an interesting year 2020 has been, right? Most of us have found some sort of shift in our lives (or more than one!), doing something we either had avoided before or something we never expected to be doing. And, who is with me in feeling just a little bit overwhelmed (okay, maybe a lot most days)?
A major step that many families now have taken is in the direction of homeschooling. Therefore, these families always find their precious, perfectly-behaving children all sitting around the homeschooling table quietly for hours on end only working on their exact tasks to perfection; the laundry folds itself and dinner is always made perfectly and on-time.
<<insert a shaking head>>

Maybe the “children present” part is correct, but we all know the details are much different than the paradise story we might see in heaven! The noise levels, the stress levels, and the attention levels very easily jump way out of proportion more times than we can count.
Our children are blessings beyond measure – by far – but oftentimes we need some extra helps keeping them on track, keeping ourselves on track, and keeping life on track!
Single Essential Oils for Your Homeschool
Here is a quick reference guide of essential oils that you can easily use in your homeschool, either with a diffuser or a piece of aromatherapy jewelry. We all know that each day has it’s own mix of emotions; using essential oils can absolutely support us (and our kids!) in the daily grind of life by boosting mood and focus, or promoting calmness.
| Lavender – Calming | Peppermint – Mental Clarity |
| Chamomile – Calming | Orange – Uplifting |
| Grapefruit – Energizing | Rosemary – Clears the mind |

We love Young Living Essential Oils in our home, but there are many wonderful brands out there. If you don’t have a diffuser, you can pick one up for pretty cheap on Amazon! To use any of the above oils in your homeschool, simply add 4-6 drops to your diffuser with the amount of water recommended.

Having a functional, pretty diffuser necklace to wear with a calming oil blend can lighten the load just a tad on those rough days. Do you use essential oils in your homeschool? If so, which are your favorite singles and blends (and what do you like to use them for)?

We are new to doing school at home. I’d like to try some citrus, and peppermint.
Thanks for the encouragement and ideas. Our kiddos went back to school this year, but we are currently (and most likely will be more throughout the year) schooling at home due to school being closed. I do use diffusers when the kids are working. One of my favorite blends to diffuse during the day is Valor and Lime (or Peace and Calming because some days we need that too 😊)!
I love thieves and orange and valor with citrus fresh! Thanks for the other options.
We have been homeschooling for a few years now, but never really used oils.
I like to diffuse lemon.
Thanks for the reminder. Oils are something I use in fits and starts. And someone’s forget are an option. I think my favorite is probably Lavender EO
Yes I use essential oils all the time. I have to save the Bergamot is my favorite. Not due to any specific properties…it just smells sooooo good!
Bergamot is one of my favorites too!
Valor and lime
That sounds like a great combo!
I need to try to incorporate some oils in our homeschool! Great ideas!
I like the smell of peppermint throughout the day.
We use several oils in our homeschool. Peppermint, Lavendar, and Frankincense are faves!
We use essential oils daily in our homeschool routine! I make sure to set the mood for success. I often use citrus as a bright start to the morning, but I also love various seasonal blends.
I love diffusing essential oils in my homeschool— I typically blend a citrus and a mint or eucalyptus, but I’ve never tried cedar wood. Fun!
I have found plant therapy and love their oils! We like calming the child and A+ attention for the kids and tension tamer for myself. I love how they have KidSafe oils and I don’t have to research or guess!
I love essential oils, but I haven’t used them for homeschool…that needs to change!!
We love to diffuse peppermint and lemon.
We use Young Living RC for when my son gets a migraine. Also like to make a homemade blend with lemon for cleaning, and add some peppermint to the pot on the woodstove for steam.
We absolutely use oils! I like to diffuse peace and calming or gentle baby when doing lessons with the little ones.
We diffuse essential oils most days and it really helps me to relax and I feel it helps keep us healthy too. I’ll have to try some of the blends you’ve mentioned. Thanks!
We like to use calming ones (like lavender) and sanitizing blends (thieves)…would love to know about other blends.
I like to diffuse Young Living’s Thieves blend when I feel illnesses coming on, but daily I mix it up. Lavender is always a go to
I’ve heard great things about be Vetiver for focus. I haven’t used it yet, but may need to try it. We normally use lavender, or blends to help with sinuses.
When I remember I diffuse citrus or peppermint during homeschool.
We use essential oils for cleaning and room sprays, I really like wintergreen more than peppermint for a refreshing mint scent.
I’ve never thought of using essential oils during homeschooling. I always use them at night to help with sleeping. I’ll have to try this out.
We use a blend called “Study Buddy” but I also have a thieves oil going regularly to keep us all healthy.
Yes, we do! We most often use peppermint and lavender.
Favorites to use would be lavender and peppermint.
I finally got a diffuser last December and I use it with citrus oils in it a lot! I also love lemon grass.

I’ve never tried them before.
It’s time I tried some new flavors!
