Help your kids learn the pieces that make up the Armor of God (and how to put each one into action) with this free Armor of God printable workbook.
Ephesians 6:10-18 is familiar to many, but how do we explain and teach the passage to our children?
Just as a soldier equips himself for battle with protective gear, the children of God are instructed to put on the Armor of God as their protective gear from the challenges we face daily. Helping little ones identify the elements that make up the Armor of God and how to put each one into action is important.
That’s where this Armor of God workbook comes in.
Helping children understand the Armor of God
The free printable workbook includes several activities that simplify a child’s understanding of each part of the Armor of God.
Children will learn to recognize each of the following elements:
- The Helmet of Salvation
- The Sword of the Spirit
- The Breastplate of Righteousness
- The Belt of Truth
- The Shield of Faith and
- The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
A simple poem is included to help a child remember each element and what it represents.
The workbook also includes:
- A ‘Label the Armor of God’ activity
- A crossword puzzle
- A maze
- The passage from Ephesians 6:10-18 that may be read aloud and
- A writing prompt on the child’s favorite Bible verse.
Ways to use the Armor of God workbook
I recommend printing the sheets in the pdf file on white multi-purpose paper. You may use the full-color print or black and white print option on your printer.
You could also laminate the ‘Label the Armor of God’ sheet and have your child use a dry erase marker to practice labeling the elements that make up the soldier’s protective gear.
To help your child remember the elements, the included poem may be put to a tune and sung to help your child save this to memory.
Encourage your family to work on the writing prompt together and read each person’s favorite verses during a time of sharing.
This workbook was designed to inspire your family to find new ways to learn and understand God’s Word.
