We’re 38 weeks into our series of praying for our homeschools – I’m so thankful you are joining me! You can learn more about the series here. We’ll pray about a new area of our homeschool journey each week and dig into God’s Word with daily devotional reflections.
As homeschool moms, we love to plan and organize—but no matter how carefully we prepare, our days rarely go exactly the way we imagine. And yet, those interruptions and unexpected moments can be where God reveals Himself most clearly. This week, we’re focusing on the truth that God is in the details.

God’s Care in Every Detail
The verse I’ve been meditating on this week is Psalm 139:16:
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
What a powerful reminder of God’s intimate knowledge and care for us! Before we were even born, He knew every moment of our lives. Every day, every decision, every detail—they are all in His hands.
As homeschool moms, we long for peace in our choices and success in our methods. We want everything to go smoothly, but when it doesn’t, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture: God is in control, and He is present in every single detail—even when things don’t go according to our plans.
Spotting God’s Hand in Everyday Moments
Think back to times when your day didn’t unfold the way you planned. Maybe it was a sudden change in schedule, an unplanned conversation, or even a small moment that seemed insignificant at the time—but later, you realized it was perfectly timed.
Or perhaps you’ve noticed how a specific lesson or scripture passage you were reading with your kids was exactly what you needed that day. These moments are gentle reminders of God’s careful orchestration in our lives.
When we truly grasp God’s power and omniscience, it frees us from the pressure of having everything figured out. We can trust Him with the details, resting in His perfect timing. Even interruptions and challenges are part of His greater plan, working all things for our good and His glory.
A Prayer for This Week
Heavenly Father,
You are all-seeing and all-knowing; you created me and know me better than I know myself. I am in awe of you and the wonders of your love. Thank you for your provision this week, for seeing us, valuing us, and being in all the details of our homeschool.
I know that you are working all of those details for our good and your glory. Open my eyes this week so I don’t miss noticing the ways you show up in our everyday moments. Allow me to slow down and keep my eyes on you, remembering what is most important and what I am preparing my children’s hearts for.
All too often, I get distracted by my own plans, believing the lie that I know best and am in control. I want to surrender to you. Forgive me for the times I’ve made that choice to go my way over yours and missed something special. Help me to trust in your plan for us more every day, and walk by faith that you will direct my steps.
Guide what I think, say, and do in our homeschool this week, and let me see You working in our lives.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen
Walking It Out
As you go about this week, watch for those little “coincidences” and remember: they’re not random. God is in the details. He’s guiding your steps as you seek Him, and He’s writing a story far bigger than you can see in the moment.
Don’t forget to head over to the prayer challenge dashboard to print out this week’s prayer and Bible reflection pages. Use them as a reminder to stay focused and intentional.
Let’s trust Him more deeply this week—and rejoice in the ways He reveals Himself to us!
