We’re 48 weeks into our series of praying for our homeschools – I’m so thankful you are joining me! You can learn more about the series here. We’ll pray about a new area of our homeschool journey each week and dig into God’s Word with daily devotional reflections.

How has your personal quiet time or daily Bible study been going lately?

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve found myself repeatedly coming back to the same theme—the Holy Spirit. Who He is. Why God gave Him to us. And the incredible impact His presence makes in the life of every believer. It keeps showing up in my personal study… and in the lessons I’ve been working through with my kids. So it felt clear that this was meant to be our focus for this week’s prayer.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need that reminder:
The Holy Spirit isn’t an abstract concept. He is God. And He lives in me.

If you’ve accepted Christ as your Savior, your body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. The third person of the Trinity—fully God—comes to dwell within you. He shares every attribute of God: wisdom, goodness, power, love, holiness. And He’s not an occasional visitor. He is a constant presence.

And here’s something beautiful: if your children are believers, they don’t receive a “junior” version of the Holy Spirit. They receive the same full, powerful, life-changing Spirit of God that you do.

That truth alone changes everything about how we walk through our days.

Never Alone—Even on the Hard Days

Even though I’m surrounded by my kids all day long, I still have moments where I feel completely alone. Maybe you can relate—those moments when the problems feel heavy, the noise feels overwhelming, and the responsibility feels like too much.

But just like we talked about last week, there’s a simple but profound truth that I often forget:
I am never truly alone.
And neither are you.

The Holy Spirit lives in us. He goes with us into every lesson, every chore, every conversation, every struggle. But if I’m honest, I don’t always rely on His power. I try to manage everything in my own strength, and that’s usually when the overwhelm sets in.

Jesus Himself told us in Luke 11:13:

“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

What a promise.
God doesn’t hold back His Spirit.
He loves to give this good gift.
And yet—how often do we forget to ask for His help?

We have access to wisdom, strength, comfort, conviction, and guidance through the Holy Spirit… but we sometimes spend our days acting like we’re on our own.

What If We Actually Walked in the Spirit?

Imagine what our homeschool days could look like if we remembered this truth consistently.

If we:

  • stopped in the middle of the chaos and whispered, “Holy Spirit, help me,”
  • asked for His wisdom before responding to sibling conflict,
  • sought His peace when our schedules fall apart,
  • invited His presence into our lessons, our attitudes, and our decisions.

We don’t have to homeschool in our own strength.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us (Romans 8:11).
And that is something we can rest in—and rejoice in.

As you go throughout this week, pay attention to how the Holy Spirit is working in your life. Use those moments to teach your children about Him. Point out when He gives you patience. When He brings Scripture to mind. When He gives you clarity or conviction.

Show them that the Holy Spirit is not distant—He is active, present, and deeply involved in even the smallest details of your day.

A Prayer for This Week

Heavenly Father,

When I think about the gift You’ve given me in the Holy Spirit, I’m in awe. Thank You for Your incredible generosity in placing the very presence of God within me. I could never earn this gift, but I desperately need it.

Forgive me for the times I try to do everything in my own strength. Help me surrender my plans and my struggles to You. Fill me afresh with Your Spirit and allow me to walk in Your power instead of relying on my own abilities.

Guide me as I homeschool this week. Help me to listen to Your voice, follow Your prompting, and trust Your presence. Thank You that my children who believe in You also have this incredible gift. Help me teach them about the Holy Spirit and point out the moments where I see Him working in our home.

I give You all my fears, inadequacies, and worries. Cover me with Your peace and strengthen me with Your Spirit. Let everything I do this week reflect Your power rather than my own.

Thank You for never leaving me alone, for always being with me, and for the eternal significance of the work I’m doing in my homeschool. I love You, and I pray all of this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

And friend, if you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Savior, I want you to know this:
The gift of salvation is free.
The gift of the Holy Spirit is free.
And they are offered to you because God loves you deeply.

Ephesians 1:13–14 says,

“Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance…”

If you have never trusted Christ, there is no better time than now.

Rejoice in the truth of this promise this week—and give Him all the glory!
