A hundreds chart is a great visual aid you can use with your kids to help build number sense in their early years of learning math.
Kindergarten students will often use a blank hundreds chart to log the number of school days (counting to the 100th day of school), but it turns out, there are many other uses, even as your kids get older!

Building a solid foundation in math requires building number sense, and hundreds chart printables are a great tool to help you do this!
Benefits of Using Hundreds Charts
For your visual learners, having a hundreds chart in front of them as a reference tool will help them see the sequential number order and visualize number patterns. It offers a structure for basic counting (and eventually skip counting).
As kids progress, you can also use hundreds chart worksheets to help with place value, basic math skills like addition and subtraction, and even patterns in multiplication.
Hundreds Chart Games and Activities
There are a wide range of number games and activities you use with hundreds number charts to help your kids with number recognition and basic operations in a fun way. Here are just a few of my favorites!
Race to 100 Game
Each player starts at number 1 on the hundreds chart (use an M&M or some other small item as a marker). Roll a dice or draw cards to determine how many spaces to move. The first player to reach 100 wins the race!
Create a Puzzle
Cut up your hundreds chart to make a puzzle for your child to piece together!
Skip Counting Practice
Start with a blank hundred chart. Choose a specific number (e.g., 2) and have students skip count by that number, filling in the chart with the missing numbers.
Fill in the Blanks
Use your blank copy of the hundreds chart (grab it below!) and fill in some random numbers on the board. Ask your child to fill in the rest.
Riddle Me This
I absolutely love this idea! Grab these hundreds chart riddles and have your kids “hunt” for numbers as they solve the riddle. You could even turn this into a sort of “bingo” game if you have multiple kids playing!
Color by Number
Grab the crayons and turn your hundreds chart into a color-by-number game! Assign colors to different numbers and have your kids color them to reveal a hidden picture. Here’s a cute owl color-by-number you can grab for free.
Play Battleship
Just like the traditional game, only use your hundreds chart to play with your child! Use small candies like M&M’s or Skittles to created your “ships” of various sizes on the board.
Multiplication Practice
When your kids are ready for multiplication, your hundreds charts can still come in handy! Here are a few ways to use them.
Multiplication Tables
Select a multiplication table (e.g., the 3 times table). Have students find and color all the products of 3 in the hundred chart. Encourage them to identify patterns and connections within the table.
Multiplication Paths
Start at any number on the hundred chart. Allow your child to move horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, multiplying each number in the path until you get to the 100 at the end.
Interactive Games
Create a game board using a hundred chart! Use dice or spinners to determine multiplication math problems (e.g., roll a 4 and a 5, multiply to get 20). Players move through the chart by solving multiplication problems and moving that many spaces.
Exploring Factors
Select a number and identify its factors on the hundred chart. It’s a great way to learn how the factors relate to multiplication and the product.
