How to Make Peppermint Oreo Cookies

In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, softened butter, egg, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and softened cream cheese.

Use a hand mixer to beat the ingredients until a soft dough forms. The creamy consistency will ensure a perfect texture for your cookies.

Gently fold in the Oreo cookie chunks, chocolate peppermint pieces, and semi-sweet chocolate chips into the dough.

Cover the dough and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour. For optimal results, allowing the dough to chill longer is recommended; it should not stick to your hands when rolling it out.

When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Scoop out approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring adequate space between each for even baking.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-11 minutes. Keep in mind that the cookies will be soft when you take them out. This contributes to their irresistibly chewy texture!

Optional: As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, press extra chocolate chips and chocolate peppermint pieces into the tops for an extra burst of flavor.

Allow the Peppermint Oreo Cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.

Once cooled, enjoy! Share them with friends and family, serve them at gatherings, or savor them with a cup of hot cocoa for the perfect holiday treat.

Tips and Tricks for Baking Success

Proper Storage: Keep your Peppermint Oreo Cookies fresh by storing them in an airtight container on the counter for 4-5 days. This ensures they maintain their soft texture and great flavor.

Top It Off: Don’t forget to save some extra chocolate chips and peppermint chocolate pieces for the finishing touch. Press them into the tops of the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven to enhance both the visual appeal and the flavor.

Softening Ingredients: Ensure the cream cheese and butter are softened before mixing. This step guarantees a smooth and well-incorporated dough, contributing to the cookies’ irresistibly tender texture.
