Chore routine? Here’s ours! #homeschooling #parentingtips

When my kids were around five years old, I started establishing a chore routine with them

Really just teaching them age-appropriate tasks they could do as members of our family to help to contribute to our home functioning well

Not only does this really teach them some good habits and skills, but it takes all of the burden off of me

We do zone cleaning for the most part, and I have my kids complete a short chore both in the morning and the afternoon

I actually write in a reminder to complete chores in their online homeschool planner just to make sure they don't forget

Chores must be completed before any electronics time. When they're little, choose chores that are simple and easy

You might be surprised at how much they love to help. Dusting furniture, cleaning windows, making their bed, folding small towels, things like that

And laundry. Teach them early on how to do their laundry. That's my biggest tip

Change up their chores every once in a while and adjust with them as they grow

Don't expect perfection in the beginning, but take time to teach them how to do their job appropriately and encourage them for their efforts
