You guys know that I'm using homeschool planet this year as our online homeschool planner
0:04
But I recently took a poll in my community here and the majority of you guys said that you prefer a paper planner over an online planner
0:11
Well, when I saw that, I knew exactly what I wanted to share with you. It's possibly the best planner for homeschool moms because it's completely customizable
0:18
So I'm going to share this gem with you in this video and stick around because I've got an amazing giveaway opportunity to share with you as well
0:25
You won't want to miss it. Thanks so much for joining me on my channel, Blessed Home School
0:38
I'm Sarah and I'd love for you to subscribe and stick around because I share tips, reviews
0:42
and encouragement with homeschool moms, and I don't want you to miss out. So homeschool planners, that's what we're talking about today
0:48
I love a good planner, and I did use a paper planner the first couple of years we homeschooled
0:53
My problem, though, was that although there are some great teacher planners out there
0:58
as a homeschool mom straight out-of-the-box planners often didn't fit the bill
1:02
And this is true for many homeschool parents. Different homeschool styles and routines mean we plan
1:07
differently and need to record and keep track of different things. The good news is there's a solution
1:12
A plan in place is a customized homeschool planner company and is a go-to for many homeschool moms
1:18
who want to have a custom homeschool planner. You will love all the different options they offer
1:23
and the fact that you can create a planner unique to your personal needs. So today I'm going to show you
1:27
going to show you examples of their homeschool teacher planners. I actually have two of them
1:32
right here so you can see exactly what customizations you can do and I think you're going to love
1:37
them. Okay, let's take a look. Okay, so here is planner number one. I really like the simple cover
1:42
on this one. When you create your customized homeschool planner, you actually have six
1:47
covers to choose from at the moment or you can create your own cover by uploading a graphic or a
1:53
photo. This one is not customized. It's just one of the current cover options. Let's take a look inside. So I love this. On the inside cover, it's got a very
2:04
sturdy lamination so you can use this as a dry erase page. Isn't that smart? I will say I didn't
2:12
necessarily use this too much myself, but it comes in handy when you are teaching or need to work
2:17
out a problem with your kids during math, things like that. And my kids used theirs quite a bit in
2:23
their student planners, so it's a nice option to have. The planner is all
2:27
tabbed which makes it really easy to find the section that you need quickly. So the
2:32
different sections are goals and planning, calendars, weekly schedule, and record keeping and notes. Let's first take a look at the goals and planning pages
2:45
So these planning and goal pages come standard in the homeschool teacher planner
2:50
There's plenty of space to fine-tune important ideas for your homeschool year
2:55
and there's different dedicated pages. So right here we've got my mission statement
3:01
so your homeschool mission statement. Use the form on the back of this page to brainstorm your ideas and plans
3:06
So on the back, you'll see the mission planning board, just space to figure out your goals
3:15
just list things that you would want in your homeschool mission statement
3:20
So there's a quote at the bottom and they have some different questions listed here
3:25
to get you thinking about what your homeschool mission statement might be. Got a brainstorming board. You can use this page to brainstorm plans for each of your kids
3:34
for co-ops, work, or any other areas. A couple extra pages. I used one of these for each of my kids
3:43
And then we flip through here, we have a goal page for the year. So goals, action steps
3:50
target dates, and then a place where you can check all that off. Next page, you've got responsibilities
3:56
So weekly responsibilities, daily, monthly, yearly, just things that you might want to remember
4:04
All right, and then we have some time blocking. So if you like to not necessarily follow a strict schedule, although you could use this for that as well
4:13
but kind of just block out your time, block out your homeschool rhythm. You've got option one and option two
4:18
So you can come up with two different options, Monday through Sunday on both pages
4:23
Then we have a couple of pages where you can list your curriculum resources that you using for first semester and second semester So listing the title and author where to find it the price and then which kids used it and any notes that you have
4:40
Two pages for that. Family plan, current year and long term plan
4:46
So we've got school year, the name, age and grade, subject, and curriculum notes
4:51
So just a couple extra planning pages that you can use. Then we get into homeschool budget pages
4:58
So we've got current year budget and next year budget. If you like to budget out your curriculum, you have things that you want to sell
5:06
things that you need that you want to plan for. You can keep track of all that in your planner
5:15
Okay, field trip planning and goals. Two different sheets for this. So this one is more for ideas and details
5:21
This one, you can keep track of even more details. Cost per person, you're going to contact, notes, start time, your goals
5:32
A great sheet to have. Long-range planning form. So if you're planning, you know, timeline for projects, different themes, unit studies
5:43
maybe you're going to use these pages. And then we even have a spot for meals
5:50
So for meal planning, it even walks you through step by step. So step one, step two, step three
5:56
step four, and step five, a place to record favorite foods. And then we've got a book list
6:06
monthly bills and expenses. And that is it for that section. So you can see they didn't leave
6:13
anything out. All these pages are really helpful in setting goals for the year and keeping
6:18
track of important homeschool details all in one place. Okay, let's take a look at the calendar tab
6:23
So the calendar section is going to consist of 14 monthly calendars, but they also have two
6:30
year at a glance calendars. So we've got 2023 and 24 right here. I love to use the year at a glance
6:38
pages. I did use them to plan out our official school days for the entire year and block off
6:43
specific days for school, for break, and things like that. So these pages are great to
6:48
for that. Now, like I said, we've got 14 monthly calendars, and depending on how much space you need
6:55
you can customize your monthly calendars to be a single page or a double page. Or you can choose
7:00
not to include them if you don't think that you'll use them. You can also choose exactly what
7:05
month and year your calendars begin with, so it fits exactly what you need. So for this planner
7:10
I chose a single page calendar. So the whole month fits on one page. I chose my start date to be July
7:17
2023. That's when the school year began. So it will go all the way through August of
7:23
2024 will be the last calendar in there. And again, you get to choose whatever
7:28
start date you want for these. Okay, next we have the weekly schedule tab. These pages
7:35
offer some more great customization options for your lesson planning needs. These
7:39
are the pages that you're going to use to create your weekly lesson plans or
7:43
plan your week in general. So you can choose a one page
7:47
option per week and you can add an optional second page if you want more space for to do lists
7:53
daily routines, meal plans, and notes. For this planner, I chose a single page weekly schedule format
8:01
You can have them customize this for you so you don't have to write the details in every week or you
8:07
can order it blank. This is a really nice feature that they offer. I've had this one customized to show you guys
8:12
this option. So I have the days at the week at the top and then you can have
8:17
have up to eight weekly subjects or categories going down the side of your chart. Okay, so I pre-filled
8:27
this in, you know, math, language arts, science, history, art, music, Bible, and other. So this
8:34
would save me from having to write these in every single week. So on every week, those are
8:39
already going to be filled in. So that's an option for you. You can leave them blank. Then on this page
8:46
We also have a daily checklist Again you can if you going to be wanting to do the same things every day and you have an idea of what your daily checklist needs to be you could customize this and have them print that in for you So you don have to write it in every week
9:02
That's up to you. I left it blank. And then you also can choose three focus boxes or just have one notes box
9:11
So this one, I just got three separate boxes here for different notes, whatever I want to use them for
9:17
And then the final option is you can do a quote or you can do a script
9:21
verse or something like that at the bottom of the page. So for this one, one of my favorite verses is
9:27
John 330. He must become greater. I must become less. That's what I printed on here. I think it's a
9:33
great reminder and I just wanted to have that on my page. Honestly, it's so open as to how you
9:39
could customize these pages. Whatever you need to keep track of, however you prefer to plan your
9:44
week, you'll be able to create the perfect page for you. And finally, let's move on to the record keeping and
9:51
section. This section comes standard with the planners and it allows you to keep track of important
9:58
dates, resources, spending, and notes in general. So on this first page here, you see a healthcare
10:04
information log. The next page we have important dates to remember. So January through December
10:14
date, event, and notes, whatever dates that you want to remember, record them here
10:18
We've got resources for reference. Two pages for this. This is a great sheet for websites, username and password
10:31
Okay, homeschool expenses for the year. This will keep a running log of anything that you have spent for your homeschool
10:38
So you can get a good idea of how much you're spending. Lending library for materials
10:45
If you are lending resources to people and you want to get them back, keep track of it here
10:48
so you have a record of it. And then some blank note sheets
10:53
a box for different notes. So a lot of extra note sheets in the back
11:00
Okay, and then finally, I love all the extra note sheets. Finally, we have a couple of add-ons
11:07
To each planner, you can add on up to three document pockets
11:11
which are perfect for receipts or random pages you need to keep track of
11:15
So in this one, I have two pockets that I added on
11:21
You can also choose to add on a little loop for a pencil and stickers for your planner, but I didn't choose those for this planner
11:30
And then at the back, thinking ahead and next school year, what do I want to keep? What do I want to add or change
11:35
And then a handy little QR code that you can scan to purchase next year's planner
11:41
Okay, let's take a look at planner number two so you can see some of the other customization
11:45
options. First, look at this cover. Isn't it pretty? I love that you can create your own custom
11:52
planner covers. I actually designed this one myself and uploaded it onto their website and I just love it
11:58
But you can also upload pictures to create your own custom covers. That's what we did last year when
12:04
I was ordering some student planners for my kids. So you can choose one of their planter cover
12:09
options or you can create your own. Great option. Now, if you want, you do have to be a lot of
12:15
have the option to have a name printed on the cover as well, but I didn't choose that for this
12:20
particular planner. All right, let's take a look. All right, you're going to see a lot of
12:24
similarities in this planner. The tab sections are the same, goals and planning, calendars
12:29
weekly schedule, record keeping, and notes. That's pretty standard. And the goals and planning pages
12:35
these are standard in all the planners as well. So these are going to be the same that you saw
12:40
in the other one. So we're just going to bypass these and take a look at the calendar
12:45
So you still have the yearly view, the two years view. And you'll also have the 14 monthly calendars
12:55
but for this planner, I chose a dual page. So you can see the difference. This month covers two pages
13:03
instead of just one. There's just a little bit more space to write here. And you also have an
13:09
extra column on the side for notes. Okay, projects this month is what that says. So you can choose
13:15
your start date for this as well but this just gives you an idea of what the dual page spread looks like It going to be one month over two pages instead of just one For the weekly schedule section I also chose a dual page spread for this so you could see what it
13:32
looks like. Again, you just get more space. So instead of being one page, you've got two pages for a
13:41
single week. Okay, the subjects run the entire length of the page on this one instead of, I think
13:47
they stopped the last one so you could have the boxes below it. So you've got the entire length of
13:51
the page. And then you also have an extra column here for a weekend in case you have any tasks or
13:56
notes that you want to make there. And then you get an entire page for your daily checklist
14:03
You have goals for the week, your focus boxes, and there's even a box for inspiring thoughts
14:10
and your meal planning. So I really love this option on here. The single page spread did not
14:16
have this. Now I chose to leave this one blank. I didn't have it fill in my subjects on the side
14:23
but remember, you could add in customized headings for your charts. You could add in customizations
14:28
for your checklist, for your goals, things like that. They will print it for you so you don't
14:34
have to write the same things every week if you know you're going to be pretty consistent with
14:38
what you're putting in there. And then the record keeping a note section is also the same
14:43
This is standard and all other planners. So this is going to be the same. is in the other one
14:47
And I also chose three pockets for the back of this one
14:52
You can choose up to three pockets. All right, so there you have it
14:57
I think these are fantastic planners for homeschool parents. They include pretty much anything you might need
15:04
and offer some pretty cool customization options. And I love that you can order them printed, bound
15:10
and ready to go, rather than having to print them yourself. It's an actual product
15:15
Now a plan in place does. offer a printable planner option so you can choose that if you prefer to have a digital
15:21
download to print and then store your planner in a three ring binder or bind it yourself
15:25
But I prefer to let a plan in place take care of the printing for me. It makes it so much easier
15:30
And then you can add on some of those additional accessories as well, like the pockets or the
15:34
pen loops. Shipping is typically pretty fast. I think I got these within a week or so of ordering
15:39
and I also wanted to mention that the company supports some great causes. At checkout, I was given the
15:45
option to donate to a low-income family and a plan in place takes the entire amount they received
15:50
from these donations and sends planners to families who want them but can't justify the cost. They
15:56
also donate 10% of proceeds to pro-life ministries and if you have a favorite ministry you'd like
16:02
them to donate to you can leave that comment at checkout as well. A plan in place has thought of
16:07
everything a homeschool parent could want in a planner. There are actually four different types of
16:11
custom planners that they offer. They offer a homeschool teacher planner, a student planner, a high school planner, and an early learner edition. So you can check all those out on their
16:21
website. There are many good simple homeschool planner options out there, but it's incredibly hard to
16:25
find one that has everything you need without a bunch of pages you won't use. If you want a great
16:30
customizable homeschool planner with functionality and durability, a plan in place can't be beat
16:36
