Hi friends. I'm Sarah from Blast Homeschool and today I'm going to be doing a lesson from my
0:04
father's world voyage of discovery with my preschooler and I thought I would just take you along with
0:09
us and show you what it's like. You ready? All right, let's do this. Let me have on my shoes
0:17
Let's get your shoes on first, okay? Okay, so today we are on day three
0:34
So this is what we're going to be doing. We're still learning about the Garden of Eden
0:39
We're going to practice some obeying, do a little Play-Doh work, introducing the number one, some outside time, and a puzzle
0:49
So we usually start off each day with a chore. We started this this week, learning how to make our bed
0:56
So we're going to go upstairs and tackle that first. All right, so one of the things that we do with Voyage of Discovery is we start with a chore every morning
1:06
I show you my guest on baseball. Absolutely. This is how homeschooling with a preschooler goes
1:13
Lots of distractions. I love it. Okay, so what's your chore that we do every morning
1:19
Tight of your bed? All right, so let's take care of that
1:27
And then we'll go downstairs. and do our other work. All right, so after we make the bed, we're going to head downstairs and we're going to get started on the rest of our activities for the day from my father's world, boys at Discovery
2:13
All right, grab your car, let's go. So we're reading about the Garden of Eden. Remember, we've been making our Garden of Eden poster
2:29
So God wants to give Adam and Eve a special home. So he makes a beautiful garden and he calls it Eden
2:38
Eden, good job. So makes a beautiful garden, he calls it Eden
2:42
Adam and Eve live there. They have everything they need. God puts many trees in Eden
2:47
Some have good fruit. You may eat any of the fruit, God says
2:51
that you cannot eat the fruit from that tree. The fruit on that tree is not good for you
2:56
Satan comes to Eden one day. He wants Adam and Eve to disobey God
3:00
The fruit on that tree is the best, he tells them. What will Adam and Eve do
3:06
God said, don't eat it, and Satan said to eat it. The fruit on that tree looks wonderful
3:11
Adam and Eve want it so much. So they eat some of the fruit, and they disobey God
3:17
Do you think that will go well for them? I will obey God
3:23
You will obey God? God wants us to obey him. God wants you to obey your parents
3:28
and your teachers. So let's do some things today to practice obeying. Okay, so let's stand up
3:34
So the first thing I going to ask you to do is stop hitting the balloon Good job Good job you did it The second thing I ask you to do in Walk to that table and touch the table Yay! Five
3:53
Do five jumping jacks. One, one, one, one, two, go. Yay! Oh, wait, hold out
4:01
Okay, you did 10. Was that obeying? How many did Mommy ask you to do
4:07
I know, I asked you to do five. Can I try that again? Five
4:13
Good job! Next, I want you to find a red piece of paper and bring it to the table
4:20
Okay, I'm going to be able. Good job here. I'll hold these while you pull it out
4:29
That's okay. That orange cue will put the orange back. It's okay
4:35
Now, please sit in. Please sit in your chair. Good job obeying. We just practiced your verse that we were reading about. Children obey your parents
4:49
For this is right. Ephesians 6 want a job. Okay, so Oliver, I'm going to make something and I want you to see. I think you're going to recognize it. Okay, so watch. You think you know? I can't read this yet. We see this one words writing sometimes
5:06
Yeah, it's a stop sign. What does a stop sign mean? What do you have to do? But you stop, right
5:17
We're gonna play a game. Okay, so, Ali, what we're gonna do is, what do I have here
5:24
The stop sign. And you're gonna run towards me, and when I hold up the stop sign, you have to do what
5:36
Ready? Oh, did you obey? Let's try it again. Let's go. Okay, so buddy
6:00
Oh, and I remember that the game was... Okay. So what you're gonna do, do you know what number this is
6:08
Good job, that's the number one. So using your finger, you're gonna use your finger
6:12
as a crayon and you're gonna start at the black dot and you're going to write the number one
6:16
So you're gonna just draw straight down and draw the number one. That job, okay
6:21
So then let's do it with your orange crayons. So you're gonna start at the dot
6:28
and then you're gonna go straight down. And we're gonna do it a couple times
6:32
That's okay, we're gonna do some different colors every time. So after we do orange, What color would you like next? Yes. Yellow
6:40
Okay, let's find a yellow. But yellow is like... We're going to be
6:44
We're going to see if you can practice obeying
7:02
Okay, so listen carefully. Are you ready? Okay. Can you walk? inside the number one that I drew. Good job. Okay, stop. All right, no, here's the next thing I want you to do
7:14
I want you to walk around the number one. Good job All right Oliver I want you to find one blade of grass and put it inside your number one
7:31
One blade of grass. All right, come put it inside your number one. Good, you got one
7:35
Let's see it. Awesome. Okay, put it in, no, oh, you want to do your number one
7:41
Okay. Okay, I would like you to find one leaf and put it inside your number one
7:51
All right, so it is really hot out here today
8:07
We've actually got a heat warning going on. So we're not going to spend too much time outside
8:10
We are going to clean up our stuff and then go inside to finish up the rest of today's activities
8:21
Are you ready to start your adventure
8:37
Are you ready to start your adventure? Come on board the voyage of discovery
8:42
How many boats do you see? Is it thinking? Yeah. Oh no
8:47
What is tipping? There's a rainbow ship. I love it. A rainbow ship, my rainbow ship
9:20
All right. So next step, we're going to be moving on to Play-Doh
9:31
We've been working on the letter A and the sound that it makes to speak
9:35
And what I love about my father's world teacher manuals is that everything is really scripted out for you
9:43
So it tells me exactly what we're going to do. So we're going to be making a lowercase letter A from the Play-Doh
9:49
We didn't actually make it a couple things ago because we had
9:52
birthdays in the house. I'm sure you can see from all the balloons and streamers and things like that
9:56
So we're just going to use store-bought Play-Doh and it tells us what we're going to do step by step
10:02
and some more instructions on the back. So it's really easy to follow very little prep involved
10:11
So I'm trying to get the Play-Doh. Do you remember what letter we've been working on this week? What letter was on
10:18
your sticker that we got? A. Hey. What does the A say
10:24
Do you remember that? Good job. High five. Awesome. Like, apple. Apple
10:30
Apple. We had some apples sauce for a snack. We're going to try to make a lowercase letter A from our Play-Doh
10:36
Okay? So here's what we're going to do. So take off a small piece of your Play-Doh
10:41
Can you just break off a small little piece? I know. It's so cute
10:45
I know. So now what we're going to do is we're going to do is we're going to, make this baby ball you got it we're gonna make a snake so can you make your play-doh a snake
10:54
what do you think so roll it to make you can make two of them but we're gonna make we're
10:59
gonna make a lowercase letter a After you clean up our Play-Doh, last thing is going to be our kids puzzle, and we've
12:11
got these pre-K activity parts that came with the curriculum. We have not used them yet, so we're going to use them with this puzzle here, and then that
12:20
will wrap up our day. Yes, I'd love mushrooms too. Thank you
12:25
So we haven't used these yet. Okay, it looks like these activity cards are actually..
12:33
Actually, they're color-coded. So they go with the different activities in this curriculum
12:40
Oh, okay, let's try this one. Can you take the kids out of the puzzle? You take them out
12:45
And then we're going to try a game. This is a memory game. Oh, I know a memory game
12:49
Oh, you do? Yeah. All right, so we're going to clean up. We're all finished for the day with our preschool lessons
13:39
Thank you, Oliver, for being such a good sport. We are going to head into lunchtime. We're running a little
13:44
bit behind schedule because this morning we had an appointment. And I hope that you guys had fun
13:49
joining us. And this gives you just a glimpse at what it's like using my father's world preschool
13:57
curriculum. Again, this is Voyage of Discovery. We really enjoy using it. The lessons are very detailed
14:02
They're scripted, easy to follow, very low prep, and we just have a lot of fun with it
