Hi everyone, I'm Sarah from Blessed Homeschool and this is my buddy Oliver
0:05
We have really been enjoying Homeschool Plus from Age of Learning. They're the creators of ABC Mouse and Adventure Academy
0:13
So today we're just going to give you a little peek into some of Oliver's daily lesson plans
0:19
Do you have anything you want to say? Okay, so I think I'm in seventh grade
0:26
You're in preschool. Oh yeah. I finished all my school. You did finish all of his schoolwork for today
0:35
And what's your last thing? And I got all three candies. So we're going to show you my schoolwork
0:44
All right. So let's go. okay so this is what the screen looks like when I log in and I'm under the daily lessons
1:01
so right away you'll see my math academy and my reading academy and both of these
1:09
use Age of Learning's patented adaptive learning system. And this means that the lessons are going
1:15
to automatically adjust to whatever your kids need to work on. So based on how they do as they move
1:21
through the lessons, you don't have to change the levels or do anything like that. It will
1:25
automatically adjust. So both of these will show up every day of the week. And then when you scroll
1:32
down, there's going to be one additional lesson, and this is going to change every day. So for
1:38
example, today he did a lesson on cultures and places to explore, but some of the other things
1:45
that you'll see will be animals and habitats, colors and shapes, first Spanish words, community
1:51
citizenship. These are all the options that were given to me whenever we selected pre-K
1:58
K for when I set him up as a student. So let me show you around. When I click into cultures and
2:07
places to explore. It opens up this window and we've already completed it for today, but there
2:13
are a lot of different activities that your child can walk through depending on whatever the topic is
2:17
So today he was learning about pandas and exploring the Wolong Panda Sanctuary. So we started with a
2:25
video, um, really cute animated characters really keeps the kids engaged. And then it takes you to
2:34
a painting page. So this was just a page that he could have fun clicking around and coloring the
2:40
panda picture lots of different ways Then we went to a sentence cutout This was really neat He enjoyed playing this He got to take the words and drag them and match them to different places on the sentence
2:59
So just a matching and also just getting familiar with words. The next one was a paint by number
3:07
And with the paint by number, he would select a color that was attached to a number and then have to match it to the specific number on the picture
3:15
And if he got it wrong, it prompted him to try again. So it was a great number of recognition and coloring activity
3:22
He really enjoyed it. We also had Speaking Like a Scientist. It taught him all about endangered animals and what that means
3:29
There was a fun fact video about panda paws, all about giant pandas
3:34
This was a read aloud. And then one thing that I really loved was that this lesson and all lessons really have
3:40
a hands-on component. So there was a craft that we could do
3:46
It walked us through how to make a panda with paper plates and construction paper. Another great thing is that this has a lesson plan where if I click on it, it takes me to
3:56
a PDF that I could print out if I want to. And this just gives you some key vocabulary, the concept that you're going to be looking
4:07
over your objectives, your activity. an activity to dig deeper. And so just all this information in case you want to spend a little
4:17
bit more time learning about this particular topic. So I already showed you the daily lessons
4:25
and now I wanted to go into the lesson planner just to give you an idea of how easy this is to
4:31
use and how flexible it is when you're planning your daily lessons. So here is a page. I actually
4:38
just set up this profile today just to show you. So you're going to notice a couple of blank spots
4:44
over here, but typically those would be filled with your lessons. So this shows me a week at a
4:48
glance, and it has pre-populated the lessons based on its recommendations for the Math Academy
4:55
the Reading Academy, and the additional lesson options that I've chosen. So you see the
5:03
Monday through Friday at the top. And there's an easy button here where you can toggle on and off
5:12
Today is Thursday, so it's not letting me turn that off since we're already into this day
5:17
But yesterday being Wednesday, you can see that for my math academy, we had a 10-minute goal set
5:26
And since we didn't do a lesson, I just have a little notification pops up that tells me
5:30
the goal for the lesson was not met. So when I move into Thursday, it's just going to pick back
5:36
up where we left off So remember the program is adaptive So it going to adjust based on what we need I don have to rearrange any lessons or do anything like that I have the time set for 10 minutes because I got a four and his attention span is really short They give a
5:52
recommendation of 20 minutes. You can also click here to easily adjust the time to set your own
5:59
goals. If you didn't want to do math that day, you could also really easily toggle that off
6:06
We scroll down, same with Reading Academy. Since I just set up this profile, we didn't do a
6:11
lesson on Wednesday. Same thing with the timeframe for reading. Okay. Then when you scroll down
6:19
you get into your extra subjects that, that you can do. So they recommend one to three lessons
6:28
per day. Right now I have it set up to do one and then it alternates. We're doing something
6:33
different Monday through Friday. So I believe if I scroll down for Wednesday, we had a lesson
6:41
in community citizenship. Today, Thursday, we've got a lesson in first Spanish words
6:48
So it tells me what the goals are. So the goals are going to be knowing Spanish words for house
6:54
apartment, building, city, and town. Again, I can toggle that on or off depending if I want to do
6:59
it that day. And another great feature is that I can go in and actually edit this from here. So if
7:05
I click on edit, it's going to take me right into what the lesson will be for that day. So you can
7:11
see kind of like in the other video, we've got lots of great options for learning. We're going
7:15
to have a little intro video, city sites video. Then there's a game he's going to get a play
7:22
and then a final video. If I wanted to edit any of those, I could cancel them and delete them
7:29
or I could delete the entire lesson. So those are some great options to have in the lesson planner
7:38
If I go back, we'll also see for Friday, it's going to shift
7:44
We're not going to do Spanish again. We're going to do colors on Friday, a little bit of art. And same thing
7:48
If I go in, I can edit. But just to give you an idea of some of the activities they have, we've got a video, the
7:53
color song music videos. We've got music in there. There are a couple of books we're going to read about colors, a puzzle to try, an art activity
8:03
Looks like he's going to get a color, some clothes, and then a game
8:07
So really great wide range of activities keeps them interested and really so many different ways to learn
8:17
OK, I also wanted to show you if I go to. My account settings, this is where you would be adding your child and selecting their birthday, all that stuff
8:29
And I go into the schedule. This is when I set up the profile where I set my initial goals for time And then I also get to pick my schedule for these different class options So again my son is four So you not going to see anything selected for
8:49
first or second grade options, but we have different lessons chosen for different days
8:55
of the week. So he's not doing too much on any single day. So animals and habitats we've got on
9:02
Tuesday. If you scroll down community citizenship on Wednesday, you can see there are great options
9:09
for science in here, culture and places to explore on Monday. There's options for maps and landmarks
9:15
There's the Spanish words and then art. So a lot of additional options that can be completed along
9:25
with the My Math Academy and My Reading Academy. Finally, I wanted to just share again how great
9:32
of an option it is that when you have those extra lessons, like Thursday, we have that Spanish lesson
9:39
you've got these additional lesson plans where you can download them and you get that PDF with
9:47
offline activities that are going to complement what your kids are doing online. So you really get
9:53
the best of both words. They get some interactive time on the screen with really engaging videos and
9:58
games and adaptive learning. And then you have some time off the screen where you can spend with
10:04
them just reinforcing what they've learned, doing different activities, going deeper, and you have
10:10
it all here. I hope this video gave you a great idea of what to expect with Homeschool Plus
10:17
My son has really enjoyed using the program and he asks to do it every day
10:22
We've loved my math academy, which offers personalized learning plan. So kids can truly master the topics that they're studying
10:30
And then my reading academy is a fully adaptive learn to read program with digital books, games, and videos that will help your kids build a solid foundation and love to read
10:39
And then, of course, the individual courses that cover the arts, sciences, and general studies are a wonderful addition to any homeschool
10:47
Homeschool Plus is a truly adaptive, multi-sensory program and provides a great mix of engaging
10:53
interactive, productive screen time, along with hands-on, interactive, offline lesson plans. As a mom, you know your kids better than anyone, and your curriculum should give you that control
11:04
to tailor to their needs. Homeschool Plus is a great option for homeschool families looking for a comprehensive, flexible
11:11
and unique program that will engage your kids and put you in control of their learning
