It's going to be a really low key day. We actually, we're supposed to have BSF Bible Study Fellowship this morning, but it got canceled due to the weather

It is crazy cold outside. We are all going a little bit stir crazy. And we actually just have nothing else going on today. So we're going to get caught up on some schoolwork. I'm going to get caught up on some housework and some little tasks that I need to get done. So I just figure that I would

take you with me and show you what we kind of do during the day, during a lazy day where we don't

have anything else going on. What have you started so far today

It's called multiples. So Carly is in fifth grade. She's working through the fifth grade program on CTC Math and she's working on her multiples lesson

This is usually the first thing after the kids come downstairs, they will

eat breakfast, get dressed, do their chores, hopefully. And then they usually get started on their

Bible study work and then math afterwards. So she is just going through her math lesson. She has

watched her video already and now they have different questions that they have to go through

and they get immediate feedback, tells them if they're right or wrong. And it looks like she's

almost through the lesson. Okay. Good job. And then right now I'm going to come spy on Emma who is reading

But I will just say this is one of my girls who has not

always loved to read, but she has found these books and she absolutely loves them. So she's

reading right now and I don't really care. I'm just going to let her read for a little bit and we can get to math later, right? All right. So my son is sixth grade. He's been working through

learning language arts through literature, the tan book. And he is finishing up a unit on writing a

research report. So there was a World War I battle that he chose. He got through writing the rough

draft. He edited it yesterday and now I'm going to go through and just double check his edits

and then he's going to work on his final copy today. All right, Em

And then one thing we do every morning is chores. So Carly is being a great help and working on some chores for me

They're kind of old and we're going to switch up the chores a little bit. So we will see if I get to that

What do you normally do to get started with your schoolwork during the day? Okay, so I normally eat breakfast first and then I log on to some school planning it

I normally do CTC math first. I just did morning chores and normally I just worked down

and there's like all these things down here. Normally we do my father's world together and we just, like, do everything

That is always fun to see 100%! Okay, so in our my father's world, voyage of discovery, we are on week 20, and my son is learning about the letter N. We've done a couple of tasks. We're pretty comfortable with this curriculum right now. So we kind of just skip around and do the parts that work for us and that we want to

do or that fit into our day. So we're going to pick a couple of activities from here to do today

and I think we're going to have a lot of fun with it. You know how we've been learning about triangles, Oliver? Do you think you could fill the triangle? Oh, he does. What shape is it? Triangle

All right, so what we're going to do next while Oliver is painting and Emma is finishing up for math

we're going to be doing some oral drill with our Latin words. We are using First Form Latin this year and we're actually doing it with our homeschool co-op

We are on a break right now, but we're trying to keep up our practice. So we don't forget what we have learned before we've learned

start back up in a couple of weeks so I'm going to be reading Carly some words and

And we've got language arts to finish up with the girls too. So that's what's on schedule for the rest of the afternoon

Right now I'm also going to take a few minutes to get a little bit of work done while everybody is eating

I have some emails that I need to schedule and a couple other tasks that I need to get done

So that is what I'm going to kind of fit in while everyone's eating and then we'll continue on with the rest of our homeschooling

At some point, the plan is to get a workout in today too. Usually I try to get up early in the morning and get it done

It's just been a couple of long days. And with us not having BSF this morning, I decided to sleep in

So we are almost finished with our day. We got done going over some of our catechism

Basics for a biblical worldview. And right now I'm going to be going over some language arts with my daughters

and doing some lesson stuff with my other daughter. So we're going to do that and then from there I will probably go do my run and then get to making dinner

We're going to make some homemade pizzas tonight, which the kids are excited about. So let's get through this language arts lesson and then we will wrap it up for the day

And usually at the end of the day, I just like to go through the checklist and make sure everything is completed

that we need to have done. And then I will also go into homeschool hall

and add in our homeschool hours for the day, everything that we completed. I love using both of those tools

It makes it really easy for me to stay on top of our schedule, and all of the hours that we need to satisfy for our state requirements

Today was a fun day. We were a little bit more relaxed

We took a little bit more time to get through our schoolwork today because, like I said

at the beginning, we didn't have BSF in the morning. So we had more time during the day to kind of get through everything

So a few more breaks, a few more just times where the kids could relax, play around

which was really good. I love being involved in all the activities that we are involved in

but I really appreciate these days where we have unexpected breaks come up

like for the weather today, where we just kind of get a hangout at home and relax

and not have to stress quite as much about our schoolwork and our timeline and things like that
